I've wanted to create a Stag piece for a long time but I was waiting until I had an idea and reference that felt 'right'.

To the naked eye this might be 'just a stag drawing' but its so much more than that; this is my most personal piece yet. I'm very proud of my Scottish heritage and Stags have always been something special to me, their nobility and resilience, they are a symbol of power and strength, and this is what I wanted to reflect in this piece.

22x30" on heavyweight 425gsm Bockingford paper

Original charcoal artwork by fine artist April Reid

    Frame not included

All Original paintings come with a certificate of Authenticity and are hand signed.

    • Care

It’s best to take your original straight to the framer in it’s shipping materials to reduce movement. Open carefully: Two people is best. Have one person hold the top corners of the piece whilst the second unrolls the drawing, without letting it slip or scrape. If you can not frame immediately then its best to leave the drawing in the packaging until time to frame.

Home your Original out of direct sunlight if possible. For framing, ask your framer for a UV resistant GLASS frame: Do not use perspex with charcoal because of the static.

    • Shipping Information

International Shipping is included in all prices of Original Artwork to make it more financially friendly!

All originals are sent tracked and  insured for loss so you never need to worry! Tracking will be sent to you upon booking the shipment. Due to companies rules the shipping included does not include damages: Get in touch if you would like to add extra insurance for damages. (I have never had a painting arrived damaged as they are extremely well packaged.)

Please check your countries import fees- majority of countries do not charge import fees on Original artwork.

Pieces can take up to 4 weeks to ship (but usually within a week or two of painting completion) but its well worth the wait! This is to ensure I have all photographs and edits made before the painting leaves me.
